BioCer Entwicklungs-GmbH is a young and innovative medical device company from Bayreuth, Bavaria. We specialize in research, development and production of innovative medical biomaterial products without animal or human components. As a service provider on behalf of our customers, we offer innovative coating systems for existing implant systems and develop new medical products.

BioCer Entwicklungs-GmbH commercializes innovative technologies developed in conjunction with leading national and international Universities. BioCer´s primary technology is the development and production of plant based haemostatic materials, to assist medical professionals in the control of blood loss in a diverse range of complex surgical procedures.

BioCer have also commercialized a unique advanced surface coating system of Titanium Oxide, to optimize the biocompatibility of surgical mesh for application in hernia repair and breast reconstruction.

Products and Services

BioCer developed the innovative haemostatic products HaemoCer™ and HaemoCer™ PLUS for use in surgical procedures. HaemoCer™ is a 100% plantbased material without any human or animal derived components. HaemoCer™ accelerates the physiological clotting cascade by dehydrating the blood. A robust gel matrix is formed, which is providing a mechanical barrier to further bleeding. HaemoCer™ is absorbed completely within 48 hours. In collaboration with experts, we developed TiO2Mesh™, a surgical mesh implant with a titanium oxide surface coating. TiO2Mesh™ meets the requirements of
modern hernia surgery. Due to the biocompatible coating, foreign body reactions are reduced widely, and tissue incorporation and cell ingrowth are improved. TiO2Mesh™ BRA is an innovative surgical mesh implant for breast reconstruction after radical mastectomy. The fabric can be stretched in both directions and is perfectly adapted to the dynamics of human body tissue in terms of elasticity.

HaemoCer™ PLUS

HaemoCer™ PLUS Absorbable Polysaccharide Haemostat (APH) is a proprietary patent pending technology based on BioCers Polysacharide Ultra-hydrophilic Resorbable Engineering (PURE) process. HaemoCer™ PLUS is a resorbable plant based haemostat containing no animal nor human components. Haemostasis occurs by rapidly accelerating the normal physiologic clotting cascade without participation of chemical or pharmaceutical ingredients.

TiO2Mesh™ is a surgical mesh implant specially indicated for repair of soft tissue defects of the abdominal wall, where a non-absorbable support material is required. Relevant applications include the repair of inguinal and incisional hernias in all common surgical procedures and even IPOM. Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by or on the order of physician.
